OT

In addition to a full and varied curriculum pupils at Light Years School can access specialist support services. We are proud to be working alongside Hampshire Specialist Teacher Advisory Service (STA) and their Communication and Interaction Team to provide our pupils with therapeutic support at Light Years School. 

We offer Occupational Therapy (OT) as part of our statutory provision outlined in a child’s EHCP or through our targeted support if needs present.  Our teams work together to support our pupils navigate and understand their school environment, develop their independence, and grow in confidence. 

Occupational Therapy (OT) at Light Years School can take place at 4 levels or ‘waves’. With wave 1 being whole school support that influences what is offered universally within the school, and wave 4 being direct contact with a OT.
