Forces Club Trip!
Today, the Light Years School Forces Club embarked on an exciting adventure to the historic Portsmouth Dockyard, where our enthusiastic children had the opportunity to explore two ships: HMS Victory and the iconic Mary Rose. The day was filled with learning and fun as the children immersed themselves in the rich maritime history of these legendary vessels.
The highlight of the trip was undoubtedly the 4D Mary Rose experience. This innovative, immersive attraction allowed the children to feel as though they were truly part of an underwater excavation, unearthing treasures from the Mary Rose. Their eyes sparkled with excitement as they delved into the past, creating memories that will last a lifetime. They also loved popping the bubbles as they ‘headed underwater’.
We are immensely proud of the behaviour exhibited by our children throughout the day. They truly represented Light Years School as outstanding role models, displaying respect and great teamwork. A heartfelt thank you goes out to the staff who supported the children during this trip (Justine even dressed up in full costume!), as well as to the parent and carer helpers who enjoyed the day with us.
Both children and adults alike agreed that this trip was simply "awesome" – the children’s words! It was a fantastic opportunity for everyone to bond, learn, and create lasting memories together as a Forces Club. We look forward to more adventures like this in the future!
